Jay-Z’s second performance of his three-night “Reasonable Doubt” 30th Anniversary concert series at Yankee Stadium was briefly overshadowed by a confrontation between concertgoers and security personnel.
The incident unfolded on Saturday night as the hip-hop icon thrilled fans with a star-studded show in the Bronx. During the performance, Alicia Keys joined Jay-Z on stage for a rendition of their New York anthem, “Empire State of Mind,” when tensions erupted in the crowd.
Videos from the venue show one concertgoer rising from the ground before throwing a punch at a security guard, striking the officer in the face. Several members of the security team quickly intervened, restraining the individual before escorting him out of the stadium.
A second fan was also seen being restrained on the ground by security before being removed from the venue.
According to reports, the altercation began after the two concertgoers allegedly occupied seats that were not assigned to them, blocking the view of other attendees. After complaints from nearby fans, security officers approached the pair and reportedly asked them to move. When they allegedly refused, the situation escalated into a physical confrontation.
Despite the disruption, the concert continued as scheduled, with thousands of fans enjoying an evening celebrating the 30th anniversary of Jay-Z’s groundbreaking debut album, Reasonable Doubt.
The anniversary shows have attracted a host of celebrity guests and high-profile attendees. Rap legend Eminem made a surprise appearance on stage with Jay-Z, while stars including Beyoncé, LeBron James, Kevin Hart, Megan Thee Stallion, Fat Joe, Ice Spice, DJ Khaled, Jadakiss and New York Knicks forward OG Anunoby were also spotted at the concerts.
The three-night concert series, announced by Roc Nation earlier this year, commemorates both the 30th anniversary of Reasonable Doubt and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint. Jay-Z is set to conclude the celebration with his third and final Yankee Stadium performance.#newsafro_
