Martin Short is facing an unimaginable family tragedy after newly released reports revealed how his daughter, Katherine Short, was found dead in her Los Angeles home.
According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s autopsy report, Martin became concerned after not hearing from Katherine for more than 24 hours. Worried about her well-being, he reportedly contacted a friend and asked them to check on her at her residence.
When the friend arrived, they discovered a note on Katherine’s locked bedroom door and immediately called 911. Authorities later forced entry into the room, where Katherine was found dead in bed from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Investigators also recovered a firearm and a suicide note at the scene.
The report further revealed Katherine had previously struggled with mental health issues, including depression, and had survived a prior suicide attempt in 2017 involving pills.
Katherine, the eldest child of Martin Short and his late wife Nancy Dolman, was 42 years old.
