A tragic search for missing Alabama woman Karen Deann Hollis has come to a heartbreaking end after authorities confirmed her body was discovered over the weekend.
The 23-year-old had been missing since May 8, prompting growing concern from family and friends who feared she may have been in danger due to a condition that could impair her judgment.
Following the discovery of her body on Saturday, investigators arrested 44-year-old Randall Lendell Dejourney, who has been charged with abuse of a corpse in connection to the case.
While officials have released limited information about what led to Hollis’ death, authorities say an autopsy will be carried out as the investigation continues. More charges could reportedly be filed depending on the outcome of the medical examination.
Dejourney is currently being held at the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $15,000 cash bond as law enforcement works to determine exactly what happened.#newsafro_
