Tensions between Jaylen Brown and Stephen A. Smith have exploded into a full-blown public feud after the Celtics star fired back at the ESPN personality during a heated livestream appearance.
Brown didn’t hold back while addressing criticism from Smith, who had recently questioned comments the NBA star made about the Celtics season. During the stream, Brown launched into an expletive-filled rant, accusing Smith of using controversy and “clickbait” instead of practicing what he called “real journalism.”
The outspoken Celtics forward mocked the sports commentator directly, saying his issue wasn’t just with “Stephen A,” but “Stephen B” and “Stephen C” too, making it clear there’s no love lost between the two.
The drama appears to stem from Brown previously describing the past NBA season as one of his “favorites,” despite Boston’s early playoff exit and teammate Jayson Tatum’s injury struggles — comments that sparked backlash from Smith on ESPN.
Brown, however, insisted he stands by his words and claimed the criticism only motivated him further. He also accused Smith of talking negatively about athletes for ratings and attention, labeling him a “clown” during the fiery exchange.
With both men known for speaking their minds publicly, the clash has quickly become one of the most talked-about sports media feuds of the moment — and judging by Brown’s latest comments, the back-and-forth may be far from over.#newsafro_
