Johnny Depp’s band, Hollywood Vampires, is embroiled in a legal battle after a European concert they were scheduled to perform was canceled. A concert promoter in Bratislava, Slovakia, has filed a federal lawsuit in Texas, claiming that Depp, Alice Cooper, and Joe Perry pulled out of a July 2023 show despite being paid approximately $277,000 in advance and never returning the funds.
The promoter alleges that while the band cited inadequate venue conditions for the cancellation, the real reason was Depp’s hospitalization for a private medical issue unrelated to the location. The promoter also says they repeatedly requested repayment, but the band failed to respond, resulting in both financial losses and harm to their reputation within the industry.
In response, Hollywood Vampires are asking the court to dismiss the case, arguing that the Texas federal court lacks personal jurisdiction over the matter. Representatives for the band have not commented publicly, leaving the dispute to play out in the legal system.#newsafro_
