In the early hours of a tense night in 2023, concern for a young child prompted an urgent call from police to Liann, the mother of Taylor Frankie Paul.
Hours after a domestic altercation involving Taylor and her boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, officers reviewing cellphone footage noticed something alarming. The video appeared to show a metal stool being thrown during the incident—raising fears that Taylor’s 5-year-old daughter may have been struck in the chaos.
At around 3 a.m., an officer from the Herriman City Police Department reached out to Liann to urgently check on the child’s condition. In the body camera footage later obtained by TMZ, the officer can be heard explaining the potential seriousness of the situation, noting that injuries in children don’t always show immediate symptoms.
Liann, trying to reassure authorities, said her granddaughter had seemed fine earlier and was already asleep. But the officer pressed gently, urging her to check closely for any signs of injury—scratches, swelling, or anything unusual that might not have been obvious at first glance.
The concern stemmed from the possibility that the child had been unintentionally caught in the middle of the altercation, something officers said they had not realized at the scene. Had they known, paramedics would have been called immediately.
Although Liann maintained that there were no visible injuries at the time, the officer advised her to monitor the child carefully. Later, however, a police report would indicate that the girl had been hit and developed a noticeable swelling on her head.
The incident added another layer to the already serious case, which led to Taylor facing legal consequences and ongoing scrutiny surrounding the events of that night.#newsafro_
