A troubling case has emerged involving Joseph Duggar, who is now facing serious criminal charges following allegations of abuse dating back several years.
According to an affidavit obtained by TMZ, the former “19 Kids and Counting” personality allegedly admitted during a 2020 phone call with a detective and the victim’s father that he had inappropriately touched a minor during a trip to Florida. The report states that the call was arranged by law enforcement after the victim, identified as Jane Doe, came forward with the allegations.
During the conversation, Duggar allegedly acknowledged touching the victim over her clothing and admitted that his intentions were not appropriate. Documents also claim he had previously confessed to the victim’s father in a separate phone call days earlier.
The alleged admission has now led to legal consequences. Duggar was arrested on March 18 and booked by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. He is currently facing two counts related to lewd and inappropriate conduct involving a minor, including one charge involving a child under the age of 12.
In a further development, authorities later filed additional charges against Duggar and his wife, Kendra Duggar. The couple was charged with multiple counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and false imprisonment following a separate investigation. While Kendra was taken into custody on March 20, she was released the same day.
The case has also drawn reactions from within the Duggar family. Duggar’s cousin, Amy Duggar King, expressed concern for the children involved and voiced hope that justice would be served.
The situation comes years after Duggar’s brother, Josh Duggar, was convicted on federal charges and is currently serving a lengthy prison sentence, adding further scrutiny to the family.#newsafro_
