Kimberly Van Der Beek has publicly paid tribute to the late Eric Dane following his death at age 53, just over a week after the passing of her own husband, James Van Der Beek.
Kimberly shared a photograph capturing happier moments shared between their families, posting a message expressing condolences to Dane’s wife, Rebecca Gayheart, and recalling the friendship between James and Eric: “RIP @realericdane. We love you @rebeccagayheartdane. Will miss our guys laughing at Christmas parties together.” The image featured both families at the 16th annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball, a gala supporting employment opportunities for those in need, an event both James and Eric had attended in previous years.

In the days prior to his passing, James and Kimberly renewed their wedding vows in a private and intimate ceremony. Kimberly recounted that the renewal was arranged just two days in advance, with friends providing new rings, floral arrangements, and candlelit décor.
