Keke Palmer made a standout appearance at the Film Independent Spirit Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, wearing a vintage butter-yellow halter dress from Dior’s archives.
The 32-year-old actress walked the red carpet in the low-cut, backless, knee-length design, pairing the look with matching pointed-toe heels by Christian Louboutin. She accessorized with understated jewelry, including stud earrings, layered bracelets, rings, and a delicate necklace. Her golden-highlighted pixie haircut was styled in soft waves, complemented by a polished makeup look featuring defined lashes and pink lipstick.
Palmer is nominated for Best Lead Performance for her role in One of Them Days. Speaking on the red carpet, she reflected on the meaning of independence, encouraging creatives to draw inspiration from others while remaining true to their own perspective and voice.
Throughout the evening, Palmer shared moments on social media alongside director Lawrence Lamont and producer Issa Rae, both collaborators on One of Them Days. During the ceremony, she also took the stage as a presenter, awarding Best Supporting Performance in a New Scripted Series to Erin Doherty for her role in Adolescence.
This year’s Spirit Awards were hosted by Ego Nwodim and filmmaker Lulu Wang, with winners selected by members of Film Independent, the nonprofit organization supporting independent storytelling. The ceremony is available for streaming on Film Independent and IMDb’s YouTube platforms as awards season continues in the lead-up to the Academy Awards.#newsafro_
