Taylor Swift’s fiancé, Travis Kelce, made a playful and suggestive reference in a Valentine’s Day card shared via Instagram in connection with the official account of his podcast, New Heights, which he co-hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce.
The post featured a Valentine’s card template displaying an image of Kelce alongside an illustration of a redwood tree and the caption: “WOOD YOU BE MY VALENTINE?” The phrasing has been widely interpreted as a humorous nod to Swift’s recent musical release.
Swift publicly announced her engagement to Kelce in August via Instagram. Shortly thereafter, she released her album The Life of a Showgirl, which includes a track titled “Wood,” containing suggestive lyrical content understood by fans to reference Kelce.
In contrast to the lighthearted Valentine’s message, Kelce previously adopted a more earnest tone in a handwritten letter delivered to Swift backstage during one of the concluding performances of her The Eras Tour. The letter, later featured in her docuseries The End of an Era, recounted his initial experience attending her concert in Kansas City in 2023 and described feeling “mesmerized” upon seeing her perform.
Kelce has publicly stated on New Heights that he initially attempted to meet Swift backstage at that concert in order to give her a bracelet bearing his phone number. Following widespread media attention surrounding the anecdote, it was subsequently confirmed that the two had commenced a romantic relationship.
During the docuseries, Swift is shown reading excerpts of Kelce’s letter aloud prior to taking the stage, reacting emotionally to its contents. The correspondence referenced the Kansas City performance as the beginning of their relationship and expressed appreciation for the tour that ultimately brought them together.#newsafro_
