Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has publicly refuted longstanding rumors of a feud with fellow actress Genevieve Nnaji, insisting that no personal conflict ever existed between them.
In an interview on Yanga FM, excerpts of which were shared on Instagram on Wednesday, Omotola attributed the perceived rivalry to media narratives and fan speculation rather than reality. She explained that competitive comparisons within the industry, especially during the peak of their careers, often fueled misconceptions of tension.
Speaking in a mix of English and Pidgin, Omotola clarified that she and Nnaji maintained cordial communication behind the scenes and that any suggestion of a prolonged disagreement, including before their collaboration on the film EJ, was unfounded.
She stated, “People don’t need to be best friends, but we talked. Like behind film, we dey talk normally… Really, na them start the quarrel before we know say we dey quarrel. So, we have to catch up with the quarrel. There was no quarrel.”
Omotola further emphasized that her personality and Nnaji’s temperament make conflicts unlikely, noting that both actresses have largely maintained independent paths in the industry without animosity. She concluded by dismissing the feud as a fan- and media-created narrative rather than a reflection of their real relationship.#newsafro_
