Sarah Michelle Gellar made a notable appearance on Tuesday at the premiere of Netflix’s reboot of Star Search, an event that reportedly encountered several audio and production challenges.
The 48-year-old actress attended the premiere at CBS Studio Center in Studio City, California, where she posed for photographs styled by hairstylist Sara Seward and makeup artist Kindra Mann. Gellar wore an asymmetrical silver sequin mini dress by Rin by Chung Thanh Phong, paired with coordinating Aleví Milano heels selected by stylist Tara Swennen.
The actress, a Daytime Emmy Award winner, has recently spoken publicly about the scrutiny she faces regarding aging in the entertainment industry, noting that she is frequently compared to her younger self. While acknowledging that she has considered cosmetic procedures, Gellar stated that she prefers to avoid surgical intervention unless necessary.
In an interview earlier this month, she explained that although she utilizes non-invasive treatments, she remains committed to maintaining natural facial movement, emphasizing what she described as “aging with grace.” She further noted that, as a working actor, preserving expressive range remains a professional priority.
Gellar currently serves as a judge on Star Search, a live five-week competition hosted by Anthony Anderson, alongside fellow judges Chrissy Teigen and Jelly Roll. She previously auditioned for the original version of the program, which aired from 1983 to 1995, but did not advance at the time.
The reboot revives a franchise historically credited with launching the careers of several prominent entertainers, including Beyoncé, Adam Sandler, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Dave Chappelle and Christina Aguilera.
Following the premiere, Gellar shared a video on social media showing a backstage moment with her husband of 23 years, actor Freddie Prinze Jr. The couple were accompanied by their two children, who reportedly offered candid feedback on her judging performance.
For the second night of the competition, Gellar appeared in a black glittered pantsuit with coordinating heels and styled accessories.
Looking ahead, the Golden Globe nominee is set to appear in Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, an action-horror comedy scheduled for release in U.S. theaters on March 27 and in the United Kingdom on April 10. The sequel features an ensemble cast including Samara Weaving, Kathryn Newton, Elijah Wood and David Cronenberg.
In addition to her acting work, Gellar maintains a significant social media presence and has entered into paid brand partnerships with companies including OLAY, Campari and Dunkin.#newsafro_
