Meghan Trainor publicly disclosed on Tuesday that she and her husband, Daryl Sabara, have welcomed their third child, a daughter, through a surrogacy arrangement. The announcement was made via an Instagram post in which the 32-year-old recording artist shared photographs of the newborn, who was born on January 18.
Ms. Trainor and Mr. Sabara, who have been married since 2018, are already the parents of two sons, Riley, aged four, and Barry, aged two. In the same post, Ms. Trainor formally revealed the child’s name as Mikey Moon Trainor.
In her statement, Ms. Trainor expressed gratitude to the surrogate and the medical professionals involved, noting that the decision to proceed via surrogacy followed extensive consultations with her doctors and was determined to be the safest means of expanding their family. She further stated that both parents are deeply appreciative of the support received throughout the process and affirmed their joy at the birth of their daughter.
Ms. Trainor added that their sons are enthusiastic about the arrival of their sister and participated in selecting her middle name. The announcement prompted an outpouring of congratulatory messages from fans and public figures across social media platforms.
Separately, Ms. Trainor has previously spoken publicly about her experiences with motherhood, her desire to raise a large family, and the personal and professional growth she has undergone throughout her career. She is also preparing for the release of her seventh studio album, Toy With Me, scheduled for release later this year.
In recent weeks, Ms. Trainor has addressed public commentary concerning her physical appearance and has denied any involvement in reported interpersonal disputes described in media as a “toxic mom group,” stating unequivocally that she is not a participant in the alleged controversy.#newsafro_
