In a message shared on Friday via her official Instagram account, Ms. Dion, 57, marked the occasion shortly after observing the 10th anniversary of Mr. Angélil’s death. The post, accompanied by a photograph of Mr. Angélil beside a birthday cake, expressed continued remembrance and affection, describing him as a lasting source of guidance and protection to their family.
Ms. Dion noted that she and Mr. Angélil share three children—René-Charles, aged 24, and twins Nelson and Eddy, aged 15—and conveyed the family’s collective sentiments in honor of his memory.
Earlier in the week, Ms. Dion also reflected on a decade since Mr. Angélil’s passing, describing the passage of time since his death as emotionally significant while reaffirming the strength and resilience he instilled in her and their children. Mr. Angélil, who discovered Ms. Dion in 1980 and managed her career for several decades, died on January 14, 2016, at the age of 73, following complications from throat cancer.
