Budding rapper Evado Lee has described 2025 as the most defining year of his music career, a period that firmly established his presence in the Nigerian music industry through record-breaking releases and high-profile collaborations.
Evado, who began his musical journey in the church in Abakpa Nike, Enugu State, noted that his early experiences shaped his commitment to the craft and convinced many of his potential for a successful career. By 2019, he was releasing music on Audiomack, which he later described as his favourite platform in an Audiomack Home Hero documentary. His debut EP, Can’t Fold, was released in 2020, followed by Drunk in Pain in 2023 and Still Drunk in Pain in 2024.
His breakthrough came in 2025 with the release of the single My Pay, which became a street anthem and caught the attention of popular rapper Phyno. Their subsequent collaboration on Ilu Agha achieved significant streaming numbers across digital platforms, cementing Evado as one of the year’s standout artists.
Throughout 2025, Evado Lee achieved several notable milestones, including being named among TurnTable’s Top 10 Next Emerging Artists, emerging as the biggest gainer on Spotify’s artist chart in October, ranking among the Top 10 most searched artists on Boomplay, and becoming the most featured South East artiste of the year. Spotify Wrapped data indicated he amassed roughly 21 million total streams in 2025, with consistent placements on the Apple Music Top 50 Hip Hop chart and Audiomack Top 10 artist chart, underscoring his growing influence in the industry.#newsafro_
