Candace Cameron Bure issued a public tribute on Friday marking the fourth anniversary of the death of Bob Saget.
Ms. Bure, aged 49, utilized her verified Instagram account to commemorate the late comedian and actor, who passed away in 2022 at the age of 65. In doing so, she shared a series of photographs depicting her with Mr. Saget, her on-screen father in the television series Full House, accompanied by a written statement expressing her continued sense of loss. She further referenced Mr. Saget’s official social media account, which has remained inactive since January 9, 2022, the date of his death.
Ms. Bure portrayed the character D.J. Tanner, the eldest daughter of Mr. Saget’s character, Danny Tanner, on ABC’s Full House from 1987 to 1995. Both actors later reprized their respective roles in the sequel series Fuller House, which streamed on Netflix from 2016 to 2020.
Mr. Saget was discovered deceased in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando. Subsequent investigations determined that there was no evidence of foul play and concluded that his death resulted from head injuries sustained in an accidental fall. At the time of his passing, Mr. Saget had recently commenced a U.S. comedy tour and had posted positively about a performance shortly before his death.
In the immediate aftermath, Ms. Bure publicly shared several statements expressing grief and emphasizing Mr. Saget’s personal and professional significance in her life, describing him not only as a paternal figure but also as a close friend.
John Stamos, another Full House co-star, also marked the anniversary with a public statement reflecting on Mr. Saget’s absence and the enduring impact of his loss, characterizing it as a persistent and quiet form of grief rather than an acute pain, and concluding with an expression of disbelief that four years had elapsed since Mr. Saget’s death.#newsafro_
