Alan Cumming’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony turned heads not only for the star himself but also for a surprise appearance by Monica Lewinsky. The 52-year-old former White House intern, famously linked to President Bill Clinton, joined the 60-year-old Scottish actor onstage, sharing a sweet kiss and delivering a heartfelt speech in his honor.
Cumming, wearing a bright turquoise suit jacket and matching shorts, looked effortlessly stylish, while Lewinsky drew attention in a bold red pantsuit. Also present was Succession star Brian Cox, who spoke before the trio posed for photos by Cumming’s newly unveiled star. The ceremony concluded with a playful moment as Cumming dropped to his knees for a candid snapshot with Lewinsky and Cox.
The friendship between Cumming and Lewinsky goes back nearly two decades. In 2016, he described her as “one of the kindest, most loyal, loving, tender, funny girls I’ve ever known,” noting that she had attended his wedding and met his family. Cumming first met Lewinsky at a Marie Claire party and has consistently praised her resilience and warmth despite the public scrutiny she faced as a young woman.
Lewinsky has also publicly acknowledged their bond, reflecting on her personal history in speeches such as her 2016 address at the 30 Under 30 summit.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce celebrated Cumming as a “trailblazer, creative polymath, renaissance man, maverick, master of reinvention, and beyond eclectic,” citing his acclaimed roles in Hamlet, Cabaret, GoldenEye, Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, and X2: X-Men United, as well as his current role as host of the U.S. version of Traitors.#newsafro_
