Oprah Winfrey, 71, drew public attention to her recent weight-loss results while appearing in Sydney, Australia, on Wednesday as part of her Oprah in Conversation Tour. The media executive and actress reportedly achieved a weight reduction of approximately 50 pounds, which was visibly evident during her public appearances.
During her tour stop in Paddington, Winfrey was observed wearing a white halter-style top and pants ensemble that displayed her midriff and showcased her toned physique. Earlier in her visit, she sampled local cuisine, including bread she described as “the best” she had ever tasted.
Winfrey arrived in Sydney on Monday via private aircraft, marking her first return to Australia since 2010. She is scheduled to headline multiple “in conversation” events throughout December, with tour stops in Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, and Melbourne. In a public statement, Winfrey expressed enthusiasm about reconnecting with audiences, reflecting on prior visits, and sharing meaningful discussions about personal growth and possibility.
The media mogul has attributed part of her weight management to the use of Ozempic, describing the medication as a “tool” to maintain stability and prevent weight fluctuations. Previously, Winfrey had emphasized her reluctance to use pharmaceutical interventions, citing personal views on self-managed weight control. In September 2023, she disclosed her use of a GLP-1 medication during a panel discussion for Oprah Daily’s The Life You Want series, noting its role in addressing biological factors related to weight management rather than relying solely on willpower.
Winfrey is also expected to further elaborate on her experiences with body weight and health in the forthcoming book Enough: Your Health, Your Weight, and What It’s Like to Be Free, authored with Dr. Ania Jastreboff, MD, PhD. In promotional remarks on social media, Winfrey indicated that the book will explore her personal challenges with weight and the interplay of biology and cognitive factors in sustaining long-term health.#newsafro_
