Afrobeats artist David Adeleke, professionally known as Davido, has publicly responded to the resignation of his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, Governor of Osun State, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Mr. Adeleke shared the announcement on his X account on Tuesday with the caption “Jeje…”, a statement widely interpreted as an appeal for calm amid the political developments.
Governor Adeleke’s resignation, made public on Monday evening, was conveyed in a letter dated November 4, 2025, addressed to the chairman of Ward 2 in Ede North. He cited unresolved issues within the PDP’s national leadership as the basis for his departure.
The resignation has introduced uncertainty ahead of the PDP governorship primary for the 2026 Osun State election. While the state chapter indicated that the primary would be postponed due to internal disputes, the National Working Committee affirmed that the exercise would proceed, notwithstanding Governor Adeleke being the sole aspirant to have purchased the nomination form.#newsafro_
