Oprah Winfrey has publicly shared a photograph and video depicting a small plate of Thanksgiving leftovers, following a reported weight reduction of approximately 50 pounds as part of her ongoing weight management journey.
The 71-year-old television personality posted to her primary Instagram account on Friday, presenting what she described as a “little turkey sandwich” prepared with Parker rolls and cranberry sauce. Winfrey highlighted the appeal of post-Thanksgiving meals and displayed the plate in a kitchen setting while speaking to the camera. In the accompanying caption, she noted: “Here’s to Thanksgiving leftovers! My meal for the next few days.”
Winfrey’s appearance in the video included fitted pink leggings, a dark navy top, a headband, and a wristwatch, reflecting her continued engagement with physical fitness.
In 2023, Winfrey publicly acknowledged using weight loss medication, including GLP-1 receptor agonists such as Ozempic or Wegovy, describing them as tools to manage body weight and prevent fluctuations. She stated that the availability of medically approved prescriptions for weight management represents “relief” and “redemption,” and emphasized that she no longer tolerates external or self-imposed shaming regarding her body. She noted that the medication helps to reduce appetite-related cues, complementing her ongoing fitness regimen.
Winfrey previously disclosed that she reached a target weight of 160 pounds, having once weighed approximately 237 pounds, while emphasizing that her focus is not solely on numerical targets. Following her disclosure of using weight loss medication, she resigned from the board of Weight-watchers in February 2024.
During an appearance on The Jamie Kern Lima Show podcast, Winfrey recounted her realization that her prior struggles with weight were not entirely within her control, reflecting on repeated dieting efforts and the challenges she experienced before adopting a medically supported approach in 2023.#newsafro_
