According to Ms. Collins, her mother, aged 70, is “slowly on the mend.” She released a photograph depicting Mrs. Collins in her hospital bed alongside family members, and expressed gratitude to the medical personnel at Broomfield Hospital, stating: “Seeing my mother slowly recovering today is nothing short of a miracle. I extend my sincere appreciation to the doctors and physiotherapists for their exceptional care.”
Pneumonia, a respiratory infection that inflames the air sacs within the lungs, was identified as the condition for which Mrs. Collins was being treated.
Earlier, Ms. Collins had publicly requested prayers and support, noting that her mother was “really unwell.” In a prior statement, she described the week as “the toughest” of her life and commended the National Health Service staff at Broomfield Hospital and Chelmsford Hospital for their diligence.
Ms. Collins further referenced the emotional support provided by friends and family members during this period and noted that listening to music—particularly by Madonna, which she and her mother enjoy—had been a source of comfort.
This is not the first serious medical incident involving Mrs. Collins. Ms. Collins previously disclosed that, in the preceding year, her mother had been transported to hospital under emergency circumstances after experiencing a cessation of breathing. At that time, medical personnel advised that resuscitation would not be attempted in the event of cardiac arrest, causing significant distress to the family. Mrs. Collins was subsequently admitted to intensive care but later achieved a stable condition.
Ms. Collins has on several occasions provided updates on her mother’s health through social media, including photographs taken during prior hospital admissions at Queens Hospital, Essex, in which she expressed appreciation for the medical care received.
Separately, it has been reported that Ms. Collins may be negotiating a return to the television program I’m A Celebrity… All Stars.
