Social media personality Martins Otse, professionally known as VeryDarkMan, issued a public statement of apology in relation to an in-flight incident involving comedian Freedom Atsepoyi, also known as Mr Jollof, which resulted in a disruption of service on a United Nigeria Airlines flight.
In a video posted on his official Instagram account on Tuesday, Otse acknowledged full responsibility for the occurrence, describing the incident as avoidable and emphasizing that it should not have transpired. He expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to passengers, noting that some individuals may have had time-sensitive obligations, including medical appointments and business engagements.
Otse extended his apology to all passengers, irrespective of age, as well as to the airline’s flight crew and pilot, recognizing the broader impact of his conduct. He admitted that his actions constituted irresponsibility, and while he did not provide an absolute guarantee against future incidents, he assured the public that similar conduct would not occur in public spaces, including commercial flights and buses.
The apology follows reports indicating that both Otse and Mr Jollof may face criminal proceedings in connection with the altercation aboard the United Nigeria Airlines flight on Monday.#newsafro_
