The 33-year-old entertainer appeared as a guest on Apple Music this week, participating in an interview conducted by Zane Lowe. At the outset of the 27-minute segment, the host congratulated Gomez on finding personal fulfillment with a partner with whom she could share life experiences, describing the wedding as a presumably joyful event. He further inquired whether the subsequent days, months, and anticipated years had proven even more rewarding.
Gomez responded affirmatively, stating: “I definitely can agree to that. It has been such a dream so far.” She added that although she recognizes marriage will involve “ebbs and flows,” Blanco is “the most beautiful person [she] could do that with.”
Gomez and Blanco, age 37, were legally married on September 27 in Santa Barbara. In late October, Blanco published an image to his Instagram Story depicting the couple walking together on a beach in recognition of their anniversary.
Shortly after the ceremony, he also shared a selfie with Gomez on Instagram, captioning it: “I married a real life Disney princess,” a post which received more than 12 million likes.
In the weeks preceding the wedding, Gomez publicly expressed enthusiasm regarding the upcoming event. During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, she reacted with visible excitement when discussing her wedding plans, remarking, “It’s wonderful. I’m very lucky. It’s going well. I’m so excited.”
The couple previously appeared together on The Tonight Show in March to promote their collaborative album I Said I Love You First. During that appearance, Gomez disclosed that she nearly disrupted Blanco’s planned marriage proposal, which had been arranged to occur during what she believed to be an early-morning photo shoot. She explained that she had been fatigued and irritable at the time and suggested postponing the engagement, prompting Blanco to acknowledge that he had been “freaking out” due to her reluctance to attend.
The parties confirmed their romantic relationship in December 2023 and became engaged one year later. Gomez announced the engagement on social media with the statement “Forever starts now,” accompanied by a photograph of her engagement ring. Blanco, a music producer who has collaborated with various prominent artists including Ed Sheeran and Rihanna, proposed with a ring estimated to be valued at approximately $1 million.#newsafro_
