Content creator and actress Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, professionally known as Kiekie, recounted an incident involving an inappropriate physical interaction with a member of the public during a recent speaking engagement.
In an interview with VJ Adams on Off The Top, Kiekie described the incident as both surprising and disconcerting. She stated:
“It was recently. I went to a speaking event and was leaving the auditorium like any normal person when a lady said, ‘Hi Kiekie, let’s take pictures.’ We took pictures. Next thing, she pecked me on my breast.”
Kiekie, noted for her distinctive and witty persona, also addressed her longstanding affinity for wearing jewellery, including during sleep. She explained that wearing jewellery to bed allows her to remain “appropriately attired” in the event of encountering individuals of prominence in her dreams, referencing Nigerian businessman Femi Otedola in a humorous context.
She further traced her interest in accessories to her mother, who purchased Kiekie her first piece of jewellery at age 15 or 16 and who frequently wore wristwatches, bangles, and rings. Kiekie indicated that this early exposure influenced her fashion choices, stating that once she began earning her own income, she adopted the practice of purchasing jewellery for herself.
Regarding professional insights from her work hosting Kiekie Unscripted, she advised:
“Don’t overestimate people, regardless of what they tell you or how amazing they claim to be.”#newsafro_
