Our attention has been drawn to a spurious and widely circulated report alleging that the personal and business accounts of internationally acclaimed singer and songwriter, Mr. Oluwatobiloba Anidugbe, popularly known as “Kizz Daniel,” were frozen pursuant to a purported court order arising from an alleged breach of contract. The report further suggests that Mr. Anidugbe was ordered to pay damages in the sum of €200,000, following receipt of a $50,000 advance payment for an alleged performance obligation.
We categorically state that these assertions are false, misleading, and defamatory. Mr. Anidugbe has not been subjected to any judicial proceedings of the nature described, nor has any of his accounts with Access Bank or any other financial institution been subjected to restriction or freezing.
The genesis of this fabricated narrative appears linked to the abandoned festival Afrobeats Meets Berlin 2022, wherein the promoters unlawfully exploited the name, image, and brand of Mr. Anidugbe, as well as those of other artistes, for promotional purposes. It is a matter of public record that the event in question never took place; the organizers have since erased digital footprints of the concert, deactivated associated social media accounts, and failed to provide accountability to ticket buyers, fans, or the artistes involved.
We wish to emphasize as follows:
No Judicial Liability: Mr. Anidugbe has never been found liable for breach of contract in respect of the claims alleged, nor has he been ordered by any court of competent jurisdiction to pay damages or refund any performance-related advance.
No Account Restriction: At no time have Mr. Anidugbe’s accounts been subjected to any freezing order. The reports suggesting otherwise are deliberate fabrications intended to malign his professional standing.
Defamation and Legal Redress: The circulation of these falsehoods constitutes a grave attack on the reputation and business goodwill of Mr. Anidugbe. Accordingly, legal steps are being considered and shall be pursued against the originators and disseminators of this libelous publication.
Mr. Anidugbe remains committed to his craft, his fans, and his professional engagements, with an unwavering focus on delivering excellence through his music and forthcoming performances.
We urge the public, stakeholders, and the media to disregard the false publications and to await verified updates from authorized representatives of Mr. Anidugbe.
