Actor Austin Butler has finalized the acquisition of the Los Feliz residence formerly owned by Brad Pitt, at a purchase price of $5.2 million. The transaction, according to reports by TMZ, was concluded last Friday.
It is further recorded that on June 25, while Mr. Pitt, aged 61, was in Tokyo, unidentified individuals unlawfully gained access to the premises by scaling the perimeter fence and entering through the front windows. At the relevant time, neighborhood security personnel had reportedly conducted a routine presence check at the property approximately one hour prior to the incident, as disclosed by a source to The U.S. Sun.
An individual with knowledge of the matter disclosed that Mr. Pitt maintained personal security personnel during his periods of residence at the Los Feliz property. Following the burglary, however, security coverage was expanded to provide continuous protection. Local residents reportedly expressed concern that the property lacked adequate protective barriers, such as a substantial fence or hedge, rendering it relatively accessible.
Subsequent to the incident, Mr. Pitt enhanced the security measures at the residence. Reports indicate that immediately after neighborhood patrol officers completed their shift, three unidentified individuals scaled the fence and entered the premises. The perpetrators are alleged to have ransacked the property for approximately ten minutes before fleeing with an undetermined quantity of Mr. Pitt’s belongings.
Law enforcement authorities later apprehended three suspects in August, following the discovery of evidence linking them to an attempted break-in at a separate residence.
The residence, colloquially referred to as “The Steel House,” and now owned by Mr. Butler, comprises approximately 2,000 square feet of living space in an L-shaped configuration, including three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Its amenities include a swimming pool, built-in sauna, and floor-to-ceiling windows.
Mr. Pitt had previously acquired the mid-century property from Ms. Aileen Getty in April 2023, following his relocation from a $33 million residence within the same vicinity. More recently, The New York Post reported that Mr. Pitt purchased a Spanish-style estate in the Hollywood Hills for approximately $12 million. The 8,385-square-foot property features six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a theater, fire pit, and swimming pool. Sources emphasized that the upgraded security infrastructure was the principal factor influencing Mr. Pitt’s acquisition.
A source stated to The Post that “he sought a residence affording both optimal security systems and privacy, which this property provided.” The insider further clarified that security had been a continuing priority for Mr. Pitt, predating the burglary incident.
The Wall Street Journal has additionally reported that the Hollywood Hills estate was previously owned by Mr. Dave Keuning, guitarist for the band The Killers, and his wife, Emilie.#newsafro_
