Ms. Tracee Ellis Ross, aged 52, has been identified as the most recent victim of a residential burglary in the Hollywood area, during which items of personal property—including jewelry and handbags—valued at in excess of $100,000 were unlawfully taken from her Los Angeles residence.
According to reports from KNBC, the incident occurred in the early hours of September 2, 2024, at approximately 12:30 a.m., when three unidentified individuals allegedly gained entry through a glass door. Ms. Ross was not present at the property at the time. The burglary was discovered by household staff upon their arrival, at which point law enforcement authorities were notified.
The Los Angeles Police Department has obtained security camera footage from the premises, and the investigation remains ongoing. Representatives for Ms. Ross have been contacted for comment.
Ms. Ross, daughter of Motown recording artist Diana Ross and music executive Robert Ellis Silberstein, is an award-winning actress with three NAACP Image Awards and a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy, earned for her role in Black-ish.
This incident follows a series of high-profile burglaries in the area, including an intrusion at the Beverly Hills residence of Mr. Lionel Richie, aged 76, last month. Unlike Ms. Ross, Mr. Richie was reportedly at home when the burglary occurred. His property’s alarm system was triggered, causing the perpetrator to flee before removing any valuables.
Authorities subsequently arrested a suspect, identified as Michael John Bond, on suspicion of residential burglary; however, formal charges had not yet been filed as of the latest reporting.#newsafro_
