Actress Zoë Kravitz, aged 36, disclosed during a Monday interview with Extra that she has already listened to portions of Taylor Swift’s forthcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl. Kravitz, who in a prior interview acknowledged causing damage to a section of Swift’s residence, provided commentary on the pop artist’s upcoming work when questioned about it by interviewer Tommy DiDario.
Swift had formally announced her twelfth studio album the previous week during an appearance on her partner Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast, confirming its release date as October 3 of the current year. Kravitz, described as a longtime friend of the recording artist, confirmed she had been granted early access to excerpts of the project.
During the interview, Kravitz confirmed, ‘I’ve heard bits of it,’ referring to Swift’s forthcoming album, further characterizing the work as ‘fantastic’ and stating that it contained ‘no skips.’ In response to interviewer Tommy DiDario’s observation that such consistency was unusual, Kravitz remarked that, in Swift’s case, it was not.
Kravitz and Swift have maintained a longstanding friendship, having been publicly observed together on numerous occasions. In November of the prior year, the pair were seen dining in New York City shortly after Kravitz’s separation from actor Channing Tatum.
Professionally, Kravitz collaborated with Swift on the 2022 album Midnights, contributing as co-writer on the tracks Karma and Lavender Haze, and further providing background vocals on the latter.
Kravitz has also previously spoken about their friendship on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, where she described attending Swift’s Eras Tour performance at Wembley Stadium as ‘crazy.’ She elaborated that while Swift’s exceptional talent was unsurprising, what struck her as unusual was the contrast between Swift’s commanding stage performances before tens of thousands of people and her casual demeanor in private settings, where, according to Kravitz, the two would share wine, a meal, and companionship after a concert.#newsafro_
