Ms. Joscelyn Eve Stoker, professionally known as Joss Stone, has announced the birth of her fourth child, a daughter named Nalima Rose, with her spouse Mr. Cody DaLuz, a former member of the United States Marine Corps.
The 38-year-old singer had previously welcomed a son, Bear, via adoption approximately seven months prior, at the end of the previous calendar year. Shortly thereafter, she publicly disclosed her pregnancy.
On Monday, Ms. Stone confirmed the birth of her daughter by sharing a photograph taken from her hospital bed, formally introducing Nalima Rose to the public.
On Monday, Ms. Joscelyn Eve Stoker, known professionally as Joss Stone, shared a public announcement welcoming her newborn daughter, Nalima Rose, with the caption: “Happy #mummymondays. Welcome our beautiful Nalima Rose to the world. We are so in love.”
Her husband, Mr. Cody DaLuz, subsequently reposted the announcement via Instagram Stories, writing: “And now there are four.” The couple are also parents to Violet, age three, Shackleton, age two, and Bear, who was adopted approximately seven months prior.
Ms. Stone had recently disclosed her plans for a scheduled caesarean section in a video posted to Instagram. In the video, recorded just days before the birth, she provided a pregnancy update stating: “Okay, bump update. I look massive today. This is a big belly. We are four days away pretty much. Baby is coming out on Saturday.”
She went on to explain that her eldest daughter Violet’s dance recital was originally scheduled to conflict with the procedure. After notifying her physician—who had attended one of her performances in Nashville—Ms. Stone arranged for the caesarean to be rescheduled from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, in order to accommodate the recital. She noted: “Vi is going to dance around 1:10 PM, then I have to be at the hospital for about 2:00 PM. So, it’s going to be a crazy day.”
Ms. Stone captioned the video post: “Happy mummy Mondays!! I am so excited. Not long now. Eeeeekkkk!!!”
She had previously expressed her surprise upon learning of the pregnancy shortly after adopting Bear, stating that the news came as a “shock.”
Ms. Joscelyn Eve Stoker, professionally known as Joss Stone, formally adopted her son Bear when he was one month old. At the time of placement, the infant weighed 4 pounds, 12 ounces and was kept indoors during the initial months due to underdeveloped lungs associated with premature birth.
Ms. Stone and her husband, Mr. Cody DaLuz—currently residing in Nashville, Tennessee—met in 2020 following her relocation from the United Kingdom. The move was prompted by a security concern arising from a thwarted kidnap and murder plot. Two individuals, Mr. Kevin Liverpool and Mr. Junior Bradshaw, were subsequently convicted in connection with the conspiracy to harm Ms. Stone at her residence in East Devon.
The couple later entered into marriage privately and began expanding their family thereafter. In 2023, Ms. Stone publicly confirmed that she and Mr. DaLuz had initiated the formal adoption process to continue growing their family unit.
Speaking to HELLO! magazine, Ms. Stone stated: “We’re trying to do our home study. I hope we get to do it. I want, like, 25 kids.”
Mr. DaLuz, who was himself adopted, and Ms. Stone have both expressed a deep personal commitment to adoption. In a statement shared with her social media followers, Ms. Stone remarked:
“The reason why Cody even exists is because his biological mother loved him enough to make an adoption plan for him, and the same goes for Bear. Honestly, biological mothers do not get the gratitude they deserve. It is a more selfless love than I knew existed. Truly. We are just so happy to be part of this beautiful cycle.”#newsafro_
