On Wednesday, chaos erupted along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway after a petrol-laden tanker overturned and exploded near the NASFAT junction, leaving six vehicles burnt and at least two people severely injured.
According to reports gathered by PUNCH Metro, the incident occurred when the tanker attempted a U-turn at the junction and toppled, spilling its flammable contents. Moments later, the fuel ignited, resulting in a massive fireball that quickly engulfed nearby vehicles.
An eyewitness at the scene, who requested anonymity, described the horrifying moment:
