Galatasaray Spor Kulübü has escalated efforts to secure the permanent transfer of Nigerian international striker Victor Osimhen following his declination of an offer from the Saudi Pro League club, Al Hilal, as reported by PUNCH Sports Extra.
The Turkish Süper Lig champions have formally tendered a contract proposal to Mr. Osimhen, who most recently completed a loan spell at Galatasaray from Napoli, pursuant to information disclosed by noted transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano.
The club seeks to finalize a permanent acquisition of the 26-year-old forward, aligning with its strategic initiative to reinforce its offensive capabilities during the ongoing summer transfer window.
According to Mr. Romano’s public communication via the platform X, Galatasaray has simultaneously extended contract proposals to both Mr. Leroy Sané and Mr. Victor Osimhen.
Negotiations remain ongoing, with the situation concerning Mr. Leroy Sané still unresolved, and Mr. Victor Osimhen yet to accept the contractual proposal tendered by Al Hilal, a Saudi Pro League club.
According to reports from the Italian media outlet Sky Italia, Mr. Osimhen recently declined a second financially substantial offer from Al Hilal, valued at approximately £25 million per annum. The Saudi club, currently under the management of former Inter Milan head coach Mr. Simone Inzaghi, has pursued the acquisition of the striker aggressively in anticipation of the forthcoming FIFA Club World Cup commencing on June 15. An initial proposal, approximating £22 million annually, was similarly rejected by the player.
Sky Italia further reported that Mr. Osimhen’s professional future remains uncertain following his refusal of Al Hilal’s latest contract offer. The Saudi Pro League entity intends to secure the transfer of Mr. Osimhen from Napoli prior to the Club World Cup. It has already appointed Mr. Inzaghi as head coach subsequent to his departure from Inter Milan.
Moreover, Mr. Osimhen has now declined two separate proposals from Al Hilal, the first of which was valued at nearly £22 million per annum.
Sky Italia also noted that negotiations between Napoli and Al Hilal regarding the transfer fee have yet to culminate in an agreement. The Serie A club has previously dismissed an initial bid and is reportedly seeking a sum approximating Mr. Osimhen’s release clause, set at £63 million.
