The British Soap Awards after-party was subject to an emergency evacuation on Saturday evening following the receipt of a security alert reportedly involving a bomb threat. As a result, all attendees, including members of the cast and production teams of various televised soap operas, were required to vacate the venue as a precautionary measure.
Earlier in the evening, the Hackney Empire in London served as the host location for the annual British Soap Awards ceremony, which was presented by Jane McDonald and attended by numerous figures from the UK’s most popular soap operas.
Following the conclusion of the awards ceremony, attendees proceeded to Hackney Town Hall for the official after-party. However, shortly before 1:00 a.m., a telephone call was received which was classified as a security threat.
In response, the on-site security personnel promptly implemented established emergency protocols. All individuals present were safely and efficiently evacuated from the premises while the nature and credibility of the threat were assessed.
A source speaking to The Mirror stated: “We were all evacuated just before 1:00 a.m. No explanation was initially provided. Security personnel approached and instructed us to vacate the venue immediately.”#newsafro_
