Victor Osimhen has set his sights on winning the Süper Lig title with Galatasaray to complete a domestic double, following their triumph in the Turkish Cup.
The Nigerian striker, who has had an outstanding season with 35 goals in 39 appearances, expressed his determination to help the Istanbul giants clinch the league crown.
“We’ve worked hard all season. Now we have one more job to finish – lifting the league title. I’m ready to give everything,” Osimhen said.
Galatasaray currently sit top of the table and need just one more win to secure the title, making Osimhen’s ambition well within reach.
Victor Osimhen was instrumental in Galatasaray’s 3-0 Turkish Cup final victory over Trabzonspor, scoring twice to secure the trophy at the Gaziantep Stadium. The win marks Galatasaray’s first domestic cup success since the 2018/19 season, when they last achieved the coveted league and cup double.
Speaking after the triumph, Osimhen said, “We won one trophy. On Sunday, we will fight for the fifth star,” referencing Galatasaray’s pursuit of their 23rd league title — each “star” represents five championships in Turkey.
On loan from Napoli, Osimhen has become a talismanic figure for Cimbom, and his form could prove decisive in their title decider today.#newsafro_
