The Annual Film Mischief (TAFM), an initiative of the Film Rats Club, is set to return in October 2025 with the powerful theme, ‘Reclaiming Self’. Now in its fourth edition, the festival expands its scope to include identity, wellness, and the transformative power of creativity.
Since its launch in 2022, TAFM has emerged as a platform for daring, underrepresented African storytellers. The 2025 edition will span four cities—Lagos, Abuja, Accra, and Dar es Salaam—between October 9 and 30, with each location managed by a regional curator.
Festival Director Precious Iroagalachi described the theme as “an invitation to return to our core as creatives” and to find community in authenticity and healing. In addition to intimate screenings, the festival will host workshops, wellness sessions, fitness events, art showcases, and live performances.
Submissions are now open for films that explore personal identity, resilience, healing, and narratives that challenge restrictive norms placed on African creators.#newsafro_
