During remarks delivered at the Beacher Vitality Happy & Healthy Summit on Saturday, Ms. Kelly Osbourne, aged 40 and the daughter of Mr. Ozzy Osbourne, asserted that public and media scrutiny directed at her physical appearance—specifically her weight—has surpassed any criticism she has received in connection with her professional conduct or personal history.
“We exist in a society fundamentally prejudiced against individuals who are overweight,” Ms. Osbourne stated. “Notwithstanding my documented struggles with substance addiction, including drug and alcohol dependency, and periods of demonstrably inappropriate and discourteous behavior, the predominant source of disparagement I have encountered relates to my weight. The extent of this criticism is disproportionate and, in my view, irrational. It is virtually impossible to find a media article referencing me that does not include commentary pertaining to my body size.”
Notwithstanding her recent remarks, Ms. Kelly Osbourne previously identified a separate incident as the most egregious misstep of her public life. In a 2024 interview with Rolling Stone, she referred to a 2015 appearance on The View, during which she addressed then-presidential candidate Donald Trump by stating: “If you kick every Latino out of this country, who’s going to be cleaning your toilet?”
Reflecting on the impact of that statement, Ms. Osbourne acknowledged the significant harm it caused, stating: “Oh my God, I died. It hurt a lot of people.” She further characterized the aftermath as a pivotal moment in her personal development, remarking that the controversy prompted her to undertake serious introspection regarding her conduct, values, and the aspects of herself she wished to alter or preserve.
Ms. Kelly Osbourne, a London-born media personality and public figure, has consistently denied the use of the pharmaceutical weight-loss drug Ozempic. However, she has made seemingly contradictory public statements, including an admission to having “tried probably everything that there is out there, whether it be surgery, medication, diet, and exercise,” thereby implying a broad engagement with various weight-loss methodologies.
In 2020, Ms. Osbourne publicly disclosed that she had undergone gastric bypass surgery, resulting in an approximate weight loss of 85 pounds. Despite this transformation, she has stated that she does not maintain a regular exercise regimen and, on occasion, subsists on a diet consisting primarily of confectionery, including chocolate and cookies.
Recounting public commentary received during her career, Ms. Osbourne recalled being told: “You’re so pretty. Why don’t you just lose a little bit of weight, and then you’ll be the total package.” She attributed her eventual physical and emotional transformation to a shift in mindset, stating that once her mental outlook aligned with her goals, “everything started to fall into place.”
As part of her journey toward self-acceptance, Ms. Osbourne credited therapeutic intervention with helping her “change [her] brain” and attain a degree of peace and clarity regarding her personal circumstances.
Despite her recent physical changes, Ms. Osbourne expressed an intent to further expand her family. In a March 2025 interview with TooFab, she candidly declared a desire for “tons more” children, adding—in her characteristically unfiltered style—“as long as I can s*** them out.”
Ms. Osbourne and her partner, Mr. Sid Wilson, a musician affiliated with the band Slipknot, currently reside with their two-year-old son, Sidney Osbourne-Wilson Jr., on a rural property located in Mr. Wilson’s home state of Iowa.
In October 2024, Ms. Osbourne listed her midcentury modern residence in Los Feliz, California, for $4.35 million—representing a $780,000 increase over the purchase price she paid in 2018 when she acquired the property from actress Rooney Mara.
The couple’s relationship reportedly commenced in 2022, though their initial meeting occurred in 1999 at the Ozzfest music festival, when Ms. Osbourne was 14 years old and Mr. Wilson was 22.#newsafro_
