Jennifer Lopez recently shared the heartfelt promise she made to her 17-year-old twins, Max and Emme, following her divorce from Ben Affleck. In an interview with El País, she revealed that she assured her children they would emerge from the challenging period stronger together—a commitment she feels she has fulfilled. Lopez expressed pride in how she navigated the situation and in her children’s growth through the process. Despite the emotional toll of the breakup, which she described as nearly overwhelming, she has no regrets and views the experience as a catalyst for personal evolution.
Lopez and Affleck married in July 2022, filed for divorce in August 2024, and finalized it in January 2025. Throughout the ordeal, Lopez emphasized the importance of resilience and self-awareness, engaging in therapy, meditation, and self-reflection to heal. She remains focused on her family and career, preparing for her upcoming “Up All Night” tour and new projects with Nuyorican Productions.
Despite the split, Lopez and Affleck maintain a respectful relationship. They were seen together at the premiere of Affleck’s film The Accountant 2, where both families showed unity. Affleck praised Lopez, describing her as “spectacular” and a positive influence on his children.
Ms. Lopez stated: “I assured my children, during a particularly tumultuous period, that although we were experiencing hardship, I would emerge from it stronger and improved. I made that promise, and I have fulfilled it. They perceive and acknowledge this now, and that awareness brings me significant personal peace.”
Ms. Lopez is now preparing to commence her 2025 summer concert tour, Up All Night: Live, which she describes as a celebration of personal evolution and resilience.
She added: “I find myself in a more advanced and stable position than I was one, two, or even three years ago. I take pride in that growth and in having successfully guided my children through adversity. As a result, they, too, have emerged more resilient. This juncture is an appropriate moment to embrace joy — to sing, to dance, and to share that experience with others.”#newsafro_
