Lady Gaga has issued a public statement subsequent to the foiled bomb threat targeting her concert in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Official reports confirm that approximately 2.1 million individuals attended the complimentary performance held on Copacabana Beach on Saturday, May 2.
Although the 39-year-old performer, known for her hit “Paparazzi,” expressed enthusiastic appreciation for the event via an Instagram post published on Sunday morning, her remarks did not reference the alleged bomb threat or the related police intervention.
A representative for Lady Gaga informed TMZ that the artist was unaware of the alleged bomb plot until media coverage surfaced on Sunday morning. The representative further asserted that law enforcement did not apprise Gaga or her team of any potential threats prior to the commencement of the performance.
Despite this, Gaga’s team emphasized that they had coordinated closely with local authorities throughout the planning and execution of the event, and maintained full confidence in the security protocols in place.
In a statement posted to her official Instagram account, Gaga wrote: “Nothing could prepare me for the feeling I had during last night’s show—the absolute pride and joy I felt singing for the people of Brazil.”
