Selena made this rare admission during a conversation about her and Benny’s “embarrassing” first kiss on the latest episode of Table Manners, the podcast hosted by Jessie and Lennie Ware.
Benny recalled the moment, saying, “Towards the end of the date, we were just sitting in the living room on the couch, and we were playing ‘We’re Not Really Strangers.’”
Benny Blanco recalled an intimate moment with Selena Gomez during their first date, revealing, “There was a thing where it said, take a selfie with the person next to you, and she got right on my chest and took a selfie. Then, right after, I just looked at her and said, ‘I gotta kiss this girl.’ And I kissed her right away.” He described how Selena’s heart began to race, and she developed a rash due to her nervousness.
Lennie Ware jokingly asked, “She wasn’t allergic to you?” to which Benny responded, “She was, yeah. I was so disgusting and repulsive.”
Selena reflected on the experience, saying, “I hadn’t liked anyone in a very long time. So some kisses are for fun, but when you feel something behind a kiss, it’s completely different. I’d been alone for about five years, with the exception of a few bad dates here and there, but never felt that way. And I was a little embarrassed.”
