Ghanaian singer Nero X, known for his hit song Osey, has expressed that chasing awards is no longer a priority for him. Despite being in the industry for over a decade and still not receiving top honors from major schemes like the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), Nero X remains unfazed by the absence of accolades. In a recent interview with Graphic Showbiz, he explained that while recognition is important, his focus is on producing quality music for his fans.
He acknowledged that winning awards can have a significant impact on an artist’s career but emphasized that his primary goal is to create timeless songs. Nero X revealed that although he has received several awards both locally and internationally, including nominations for prestigious awards like TGMA, he remains patient and believes that when the time is right, the awards will come.
The artist also shared his satisfaction with the growth of Ghana’s creative industry, particularly under the leadership of President John Mahama, reflecting a positive outlook on the country’s artistic progress.#newsafro_
