Afrobeats star Asake has taken charge of his father, Fatai Odunsi’s, medical treatment by admitting him to a specialist hospital in Ikoyi, where he is receiving care from Chinese medical experts, a source has confirmed.
A neighbor of Odunsi, who had previously guided a correspondent to Asake’s childhood home in Iga Idunganran, Isale Eko, verified the development. Initially hesitant to provide details, she later confirmed after speaking with Odunsi’s wife, stating, “He has been admitted to a specialist hospital in Ikoyi where Chinese experts are currently attending to him.”
A member of Asake’s management team, speaking to Sunday Scoop on condition of anonymity, described the situation as an oversight, confirming that the artist has begun fulfilling his financial commitments to both his father, Fatai Odunsi, and his daughter, Zeenat.
According to the source, Asake has reunited with his family and assured them of continued support. “The entire thing was an oversight, but all has been sorted. He has promised to provide whatever is needed to ensure his father’s well-being. To the best of my knowledge, he has started fulfilling those promises, which is why things are now calm,” the insider stated.
However, the source declined to comment on whether Asake would resume his relationship with Zeenat’s mother or offer her financial support, saying, “I have no knowledge of what has or will happen to the baby mama; what I know is what I have told you.”
In a viral video, Fatai Odunsi confirmed that following his reconciliation with Asake, the Afrobeats star committed to purchasing a new home for him and covering his medical expenses. Odunsi stated that real estate agents were actively searching for a suitable property on Asake’s behalf.
He also disclosed that Asake had agreed to take full financial responsibility for his 11-year-old daughter, Zeenat.
