Tamra Judge has offered more insight into her decision to step away from The Real Housewives of Orange County, revealing that the ongoing pressures of her life, combined with mental health struggles, led her to hit a breaking point.
In a candid conversation on the latest episode of her podcast Two Ts in a Pod with co-host Teddi Mellencamp, the 57-year-old reality star shared that she had been experiencing a significant amount of personal stress and anxiety while filming the most recent season. She explained that, despite her best efforts, she found herself unable to break free from a mental and emotional slump, which ultimately left her questioning whether it was time to quit.
“I just hit a wall,” she said. “There’s so much going on in my life, and it’s just… I don’t know.” Judge further opened up about her struggles, revealing that therapy had been a key part of her journey but also noting that the emotional toll was starting to take its physical toll. “When I get like this, my body just shuts down,” she explained. “It just completely shuts down. I can just sit in one place and stare at the wall for hours.”
The reality star didn’t go into specifics about the challenges she’s facing but did acknowledge that her close friend Teddi Mellencamp’s own health battle had been a source of support and motivation. Mellencamp, who recently underwent emergency surgery after tumors were found in her brain, had been a strong voice of encouragement for Judge, helping to lift her spirits during her difficult time. Judge recalled, “Teddi gave me a pep talk, and that is the first time I’ve laughed in so long.”
Judge also expressed gratitude for her supportive relationship with Teddi, sharing that their connection had helped reignite her sense of purpose. Later, she posted an Instagram Story with a smiling snapshot of herself and Teddi, captioning it, “Back with my Teddi Jo and suddenly, everything makes sense again.”
Earlier in the week, Tamra shocked fans by hinting at her departure from RHOC with an emotional social media post, writing, “It was a long run! When life gives you real problems, this reality s*** doesn’t make sense. Peace out! I’m out!” This followed her brief departure from the show in 2020 due to a pay cut, only for her to return for subsequent seasons.
The show’s producer, Andy Cohen, weighed in the next day, suggesting that Mellencamp’s health struggles may have contributed to Judge’s decision to step back. While Cohen didn’t directly comment on Tamra’s departure, he acknowledged the situation by saying, “One of her best friends is going through an incredibly intense health crisis. So, maybe keep that in mind.”
For now, it seems that Tamra Judge is taking some time for herself, with the support of her loved ones, as she navigates her emotional well-being and decides what’s best for her future.#newsafro_
