Amber Rose has opened up about her ex-boyfriend Kanye West, offering a candid reflection on their relationship 15 years after their split. In a recent interview on Club Shay Shay, Amber discussed Kanye’s behavior, particularly in light of his recent controversial remarks, including his shocking anti-Semitic comments on social media.
Despite Kanye’s recent actions, Amber confessed that she will always have a “place in my heart” for him, recalling the man she met in 2008. She described him as sweet at the time, speculating that Kanye’s current behavior might be the result of having “enablers around him that don’t actually care about him.” Amber noted, “That’s what it looks like to me,” adding that while she has no insider knowledge, the situation seems troubling from the outside.
Amber was also asked about Kanye’s wife, Bianca Censori, and her choice to wear revealing outfits in public, including her controversial nude look at the Grammys. She speculated that Kanye enjoys dressing his partners in provocative clothing, revealing that he did the same with both her and Kim Kardashian. “He wants other men to want his woman,” Amber said, adding, “He wants everybody that when you walk into the room, his girlfriend or wife is the most desirable.”
Reflecting on Kanye’s past, Amber mentioned that when they were together, he wasn’t the same person he appears to be today. She shared that Kanye would often visit his late mother Donda’s photo, speak about her, light candles, and cry—a ritual she believes helped him cope. Amber noted, “I don’t think he has anybody around him that’s really loving on him the proper way.”
Amber also addressed Kanye’s infamous interruption of Taylor Swift’s 2009 MTV VMA speech, where he declared that Beyoncé deserved the award instead. Amber suggested that Kanye was simply “fed up” and frustrated, stating, “Being famous, you see a lot of things that are just not okay, and they use celebrities as pawns in their weird little game.”
Amber also shared a deeply personal memory, revealing that her grandmother had taken her own life when her mother was just 10 years old, adding further context to her perspective on Kanye’s behavior.
Despite their past, Amber expressed that she remains sympathetic toward Kanye, acknowledging that her relationship with him was different from the one he seems to have today.#newsafro_
