Her brother, Charles Burney, confirmed that Alysha died in her sleep following an asthma attack. In response to online speculation regarding her death, Charles clarified to FOX4 that Alysha did not use drugs and emphasized that she was a “self-loving and happy individual” who cherished her life and was excited about her future.
Charles expressed frustration over misinformation circulating online and stated, “These sources lack credibility and should not be believed.” He praised his sister for her openness, creativity, and dedication to helping others, noting her academic achievements, including a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media Production and her pursuit of a graduate degree. Alysha’s aspirations included becoming a writer and director and eventually returning to Kansas City to open a production studio to assist young creatives.
Charles first shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram, urging the public to respect the family’s privacy and cease spreading false narratives about his sister’s death. He also made it clear that legal action would be pursued against those continuing to defame her legacy.
Alysha, who boasted over 2 million followers on TikTok and 1 million YouTube subscribers, was particularly known for her Bad Girls Club parody series. In the wake of her passing, many of her friends shared heartfelt tributes, with her close friend Jay Lanai describing Alysha as “the most genuine, sweet, beautiful and humble human” she had ever known. Lanai also fondly remembered their time together over Christmas.
Another close friend, Niko, expressed his grief in an emotional post, recalling Alysha as his “best friend” and thanking her for the unconditional love and support she had always shown him. He concluded with a heartfelt message, “You’re with God now, and I know you’re making him laugh.”
