Kristina Rihanoff and Ben Cohen, who had been in a relationship for twelve years, have reportedly ended their partnership. The former England rugby player, 46, and the professional dancer, 47, initially met on Strictly Come Dancing in 2013, where their relationship began, following Cohen’s separation from his wife, Abby.
Sources close to the couple have confirmed to The Sun that financial difficulties played a significant role in the dissolution of their relationship. A friend of the couple stated, ‘Ben left his wife Abby for Kristina, only for the relationship to now end. It’s almost as if the curse has reversed itself. This situation will feel like a form of karma for Abby, who was deeply affected when Ben left her.’
The couple’s financial troubles became evident last year when they placed their £1.75 million home on the market amidst ongoing financial challenges. Cohen disclosed in a court hearing in October that these financial pressures had strained their relationship. The five-bedroom property in Northamptonshire, purchased in 2016, was listed for sale in October for £1.75 million. Cohen also expressed concerns about the state of their finances, admitting he was ‘fighting to save his relationship and home’ after Kristina faced a driving offence, which resulted in six penalty points on her driving licence.
The couple, who share an eight-year-old daughter, Melina, had also faced legal and financial issues surrounding their yoga studio business. Soo Yoga, which they opened in 2017, suffered financial setbacks due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The business, which specialises in various fitness and wellness classes, reported a debt of £488,470 for the year ending July 31, 2022. Kristina resigned as a director of the business in September 2022 and transferred her 50 percent shareholding to Cohen.
The couple’s financial difficulties were further compounded by outstanding debts, including a £190,000 loan owed to Bespoke Ballroom Ltd, a company partially owned by Kristina. These mounting challenges contributed to the dissolution of their relationship, with both parties navigating the stress of their financial and legal issues.#newsafro_
