Gracie Bon, a 27-year-old plus-size influencer, has described her recent visit to Disneyland as a “nightmare,” revealing that the experience was marred by constant staring and filming from other visitors. The Panama-born model, who requires two seats on certain rides due to her size, said the trip—intended to be a fun family outing—was overshadowed by the discomfort of being openly scrutinized. Gracie shared a video detailing the ordeal with her 10 million Instagram followers, which has since garnered 5.2 million views.
In the video, Gracie expressed her frustration, saying, “Is it just me or are people not used to seeing big girls like me at Disneyland?” She continued, “Today I came to Disney with my family ready to have fun. But the second I arrived, the nightmare started. Some parents started recording me, so I decided to change the game. If they were going to record me, I was going to record them.”
Gracie then handed her glasses, which had a hidden camera lens in the frame, to her brother, allowing him to capture the reactions of those around her. “And let me tell you, I couldn’t believe my eyes,” she added, emphasizing her shock at what was being filmed.
In the video, Gracie continued, “People were shocked to see my body, like, ‘Hello, this is America.’ Almost 40 percent of people here are plus-size, so why were they acting like I was some rare creature?” She questioned, “What do people expect me to do? Shrink myself so I can go to an amusement park? I can’t just wake up one day and be skinny. It’s 2025, and people need to realize that not everybody looks the same, and that’s okay.”
Despite the negative attention, Gracie refused to let it spoil her day. “I had so much fun. I needed two seats on the Slinky Dog [ride], but that just means double the fun!” She ended the video by asking, “What would you do if you were me?” The footage showed Gracie enjoying her time at the park, posing for photos with characters, while visitors could be seen filming her with shocked expressions.
Gracie also captured the moment she took up two seats on a Toy Story ride, sharing the footage in her post, which quickly gained 87,700 likes and nearly 11,000 comments. While some supported her, others sided with the onlookers, suggesting that Gracie was aware of why people were staring.
One commenter wrote, “You’re not naturally ‘big,’ that’s the issue,” while another claimed, “No one wants to see that at a theme park with children.” Other users implied that Gracie was intentionally drawing attention, with one remarking, “You thrive off of the attention,” and another saying, “It’s not because you’re plus size. It’s because your body has been modified and looks too ridiculous for most people.” Several comments criticized her appearance, stating, “They are looking cause it’s not natural,” and “She’s not serious.”
This was not the first time Gracie had been criticized for her body. In response to previous negative remarks, she has defended herself, insisting that her body is “what God gave me” and denying having undergone any enhancement surgeries.#newsafro_
