Taylor Swift’s unexpected involvement in Blake Lively’s highly publicized legal disputes with Justin Baldoni has caused significant strain on their decade-long friendship. Sources indicate that the fallout from the scandal remains unresolved, with Swift, 35, reportedly no longer in communication with Lively, 37.
It was previously reported by Newsafro.com that Swift had taken a “step back” from the Gossip Girl star, but the relationship has further deteriorated. Swift allegedly declined an invitation to the SNL 50th anniversary special, where Lively was among the guest list, signaling the ongoing tension between the two.
“Taylor is not communicating with Blake,” an insider revealed. “She was invited to SNL50, but with Blake and Kim Kardashian there, it was the last place on earth she would be seen.”
The intense media attention surrounding Lively has led Swift to reassess her close friendships and the potential impact of “external factors” on her own reputation.
“Taylor is taking stock of which of her friends are genuinely supportive and which ones might name-drop her for personal gain after Blake-gate,” a second insider disclosed.
“She has a new album in the works and is shocked by how much drama she was pulled into. She won’t let external factors hurt her career,” a source shared, highlighting Swift’s focus on her music amid the chaos.
The once inseparable friends have not been seen together for over four months, with the last public outing occurring in October when Lively and Swift enjoyed a double date with their partners, Ryan Reynolds and Travis Kelce, in Manhattan.
Questions about their relationship surfaced earlier this month when Lively was notably absent from the Super Bowl, with Swift instead accompanied by collaborator Ice Spice, social media influencer Ashley Avignone, and Haim sisters Alana, Este, and Danielle.
Swift became entangled in the controversy last month when her It Ends with Us co-star, Justin Baldoni, countersued Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for $400 million. In his filing, Baldoni claimed that Lively had used Swift to intimidate him during a meeting with Reynolds regarding edits she had made to a rooftop scene. Baldoni alleged that Swift’s presence made him feel pressured to “comply with Blake’s direction for the script.”
Lively, in turn, reportedly threatened Baldoni by comparing herself to Game of Thrones character Khaleesi in a series of text messages, which were included as exhibits in the court papers. In these messages, Lively referred to Reynolds and Swift as her “dragons.”
A source previously revealed to Newsafro.com that the description was a shock to Swift, as she had never intended to be at the meeting. She had arrived at Lively’s New York penthouse to find it still underway, leaving her caught in the middle of the escalating legal drama.#newsafro_
