Kanye West has publicly addressed his ongoing divorce from Bianca Censori with an unsettling Instagram post on Thursday. The 47-year-old rapper, whose separation from Censori, 30, was first reported exclusively by the Daily Mail, shared a definition of “coercion” just one hour following the announcement of his divorce. The post, captioned “is the coercion,” included the statement: “Yes, coercion is illegal.”
The post provided a definition of “coercion,” describing it as “the act of forcing someone to do something against their will through threats or intimidation,” which can encompass physical harm, psychological abuse, extortion, blackmail, or sexual assault. Shortly after its publication, the post was mysteriously removed.
West and Censori are reportedly heading toward divorce just 11 days following her controversial public appearance at the Grammys, where she was involved in a provocative incident on the red carpet.
It is understood that Kanye West and Bianca Censori have verbally agreed upon a $5 million payment to Censori following their brief marriage, which commenced in December 2022. A source close to West has confirmed their separation, with expectations that a legal filing to dissolve the marriage will occur in the coming days.
Censori is currently residing at their $35 million property in Beverly Park North, Los Angeles, though West’s whereabouts remain unknown. Some speculate that he may return to Tokyo, Japan, where he spent a significant portion of the previous year living in a hotel.
On February 2, Censori appeared visibly distressed on the red carpet, where West allegedly instructed her to remove her fur coat and “make a scene,” a request she complied with. Friends of West have since maintained that the stunt was his artistic vision, also intended as a homage to the cover of his album Vultures 2.
The following day, West posted on X, stating: “My wife’s first red carpet opened a whole new world. I keep staring at this photo like I was staring in admiration that night thinking, wow, I am so lucky to have a wife that is so smart, talented, brave, and hot.”
