This remark quickly led to speculation that Witherspoon was referring to fellow Oscar-winner Kate Winslet, 49, sparking rumors of a hidden feud between the two.
Reese promptly addressed the speculation, taking to Instagram Stories on Saturday to clarify the situation. She wrote, ‘Hey guys… just spoke to my very dear friend for years, Kate W. We laughed about this stupidity. Please do not believe the internet.’
