Kyle Walker has officially bid farewell to Manchester City, leaving both the club and the England national team to join AC Milan on loan in Italy.
The 34-year-old footballer decided to seek a new challenge last month after a difficult season with Premier League champions Manchester City.
However, Walker has also been in the spotlight due to his paternity scandal with Lauryn Goodman, which made headlines when it was revealed in December 2023 that he had fathered a second child with the reality star.
After attempting to repair his marriage with Annie Kilner, 33, who was pregnant when Kyle’s infidelity was revealed, she filed for divorce. Despite this, the couple presented a united front over Christmas at their family home and are now reportedly seeking a fresh start in Italy, hoping to leave the turmoil surrounding Lauryn Goodman behind.
An insider told The Sun that Annie is making the move for the sake of their children, stating, “Getting away from the UK and the noise surrounding Kyle’s sex scandals is what they desperately need. They feel smothered.”
“It’s been a traumatic 12 months, and they now just want to put it behind them and attempt to lead some sort of normal existence for a while,” said an insider.
While the couple presented a united front over Christmas, the source revealed that divorce is still a possibility. However, if they remain together in Italy, there may be a greater chance of reconciliation. The insider added, “Kyle accepts that he is taking his problems with him and won’t ever escape what he has done. This is an opportunity for him to get some breathing space and for the couple to work out their next steps.”
