Jade Thirlwall has revealed the heartfelt moment she knew her boyfriend, Jordan Stephens, was “The One.” Reflecting on Jesy Nelson’s unexpected departure from Little Mix in 2020, Jade, 32, shared that she broke down in tears over the decision. Jordan, showing his thoughtfulness, cheered her up by bringing her a pasty from Greggs.
In a recent interview on The Louis Theroux Podcast, Jade, who has been in a relationship with the Rizzle Kicks frontman for four years, described the gesture as a pivotal moment that confirmed he was a keeper.
Jade Thirlwall recounted the emotional moment when she realized her boyfriend, Jordan Stephens, was truly “The One.” Speaking on The Louis Theroux Podcast, Jade described breaking down while driving north to visit her family following Jesy Nelson’s departure from Little Mix in 2020.
“I just wailed and wailed for about an hour,” she shared. “We pulled into a service station, and he asked, ‘Do you want some peace?’ I said, ‘Yes.'”
Jade explained that Jordan’s sensitivity during her breakdown made her see him in a new light. “That’s when I knew he was a keeper—he gave me space and asked, ‘Are you alright on your own for a little bit?’ I couldn’t even speak; I was just screaming.”
Jade Thirlwall shared the touching moment when her boyfriend, Jordan Stephens, solidified his place in her heart. “He went into the shop and came back with a pasty from Greggs, and I thought, ‘That’s the one,'” she revealed.
Reflecting further, Jade opened up about the grief she experienced following Jesy Nelson’s departure from Little Mix, admitting they haven’t spoken since. “When Jesy decided to leave, I grieved,” she said.
At the time, Jade and Jordan were in the early stages of their relationship. “I was scared to show him how much it meant to me,” she admitted. “I think in his mind it was like, ‘Oh, you were in a band, someone left, that happens all the time.’ But for me, it was deeper than that.”
Jade described the moment she broke down: “We were driving, and I was being really short with him. Then, out of nowhere, I just bellowed like a whale. I’d never cried like that since my grandad died when I was 13. It was all the years of love, the ups and downs, the enabling behaviors, and everything we’d been through as a group.”
